New ribbon recognition feature for Evolis printers

February 4th, 2008 : Evolis introduces a new ribbon recognition feature for optimized settings and high quality printouts

New Year brings in new features in Evolis Printers. Evolis printers will now recognise and distinguish between colour ribbons.

This patented innovation is a result of several years of close-knit collaboration with our partner ICI ImageData (UK).

When you install a ribbon, the printer will automatically recognise it and immediately optimise all settings for images, photos and colour backgrounds for a very high quality and professional grade of printing.

With this recognition feature in our versatile, adaptive and innovative printers, Evolis is able to guarantee the quality of print consumables. The 'Evolis Genuine Product' label now means much more: quality printing from quality consumables. Each original colour ribbon comes with the manufacturer's warranty and will provide additional levels of comfort and user-friendliness: watch out for the release of new utilities to monitor printers.

The release of this recognition feature is scheduled for end of January 2008 for YMCKO ribbons. The other colour ribbons will also be supported during 2008 and the feature will be available for the full catalogue of Evolis products. Evolis will update your support teams about this new feature and will release a technical note soon.
